Comprehensive test management was an important pillar for the commissioning of the various routes and sub-projects.
NEXTRAIL is responsible for the entire test management of the ÖBB. The tasks include creating test specifications as well as carrying out tests in a laboratory setting and in the field. In addition, the test results are analysed, evaluated and documented for sub-projects, which are divided into the following main areas: support of SIGNON Deutschland GmbH in extension of project support for ETCS Level 2, block compaction for new lines Vienna–St Pölten, ETCS Level 2 ÖBB – Unterinntal and ETCS Level 2 ÖBB – freight rail bypass St Pölten

Support with project planning, scheduling and coordination

Administration of the freight rail bypass planning documents, checking freight rail bypass project planning and evaluating log files

Change request (CR) and claim management

Operational technical coordination and preliminary work for technical committee on anomalies (TGA)

Supporting the process for project-specific ETCS safety-relevant application conditions

Creation of a rough plan (balise plan) as a specification for the ETCS manufacturer with subsequent detailed planning

Review of the manufacturer’s design planning, project planning and route atlas

Acceptance measurement (with subsequent inspection of the track file)

Test specifications for acceptance tests, both specific and generic

Monitoring of tests in the laboratory and on the tracks, as well as analysis of test results and deviations

Creation of reports on acceptance runs
