Validation Test Case Catalogue (TFK) - EULYNX Standard Communication Interface (SCI)

DB InfraGO AG

Frankfurt am Main, October 2023 to ongoing
DSTW

Create a test basis to test subsystems from different manufacturers in a standardised way for the fulfilment of functional requirements.

Digital interlockings (DSTW) are characterised by their modularity, which makes it possible to connect individual components such as points and signals to the indoor system using standardised communication. The elements of the outdoor system, which are connected to the interlocking via a network, are controlled by object controllers. The logical and physical interfaces are described in detail in the NeuPro specifications

In order to support the implementation of DSTW projects, the client created SCI test case catalogues for the interfaces in accordance with the EULNYX specification. NEXTRAIL's task was to validate the test cases against the NeuPro specifications and test specifications. Special emphasis was placed on checking the completeness, feasibility and analysability of the test cases.

In particular, this involved the Point (SCI-P), Train Detection System (SCI-TDS), Light Signal (SCI-LS), level crossing (SCI-LX) and input/output (SCI-IO) interfaces.

Key areas of service

  • Validation of the individual test case catalogues (TFK) for the standard communication interface (SCI) according to the corresponding NeuPro specifications

  • Verifiability of fulfilment of the requirements via the test concept

Special features

The interfaces can often only be tested with a chain of subsystems (LBS, central processing unit, object controller) - the verification of the feasibility of the test cases therefore took into account the chain of effects from the operating action to a measurable, reproducible result.  The necessary use of manufacturer-specific test equipment could thus be avoided.
